What can you use the app for?

Rocketr is a place where users can store ideas, take notes, collaborate on concepts or have conversations. Rocketr uses the idea of online notebooks to develop a place where people worldwide can edit and write in these notebooks and they can create posts that build upon the creator's original topic. Notebooks on Rocketr are meant to be shared publicly, but users could restrict access to them to only a group of authorized individuals as well. People can use Rocketr to make a notebook about something fun like a fan fiction about their favorite science fiction series. Or, users could do something more serious, like use Rocketr notebooks to collaborate of work ideas or issues. Rocketr users can have a ton of different notebooks addressing many different topics and issues. They can engage with a small group or open up the notebook to work with anyone in the Rocketr community. Users could also access and edit their notes from their iPhone when they are on the go too. Rocketr is a place where users can quickly and effectively collaborate in a note-taking environment and brainstorm through this online platform.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

Rocketr is an application that was designed by the Jet Cooper agency out of Toronto, Canada. The Rocketr team was founded by Jet Cooper’s Andrew Peek (Product Lead and Conceptualizer of Rocketr), and Jennifer Fong-Adwent (Technical Lead). This project was self-funded in order to get to launch quickly. Jet Cooper specializes in making "smart, capable and beautiful applications for web, mobile and tablet."

What are the differences to other apps?

Rocketr is different from other collaboration tools available online in that it is solely focused on the notebook as a means of communicating. Their notebook is so much more, however, than other online notebooks. Users can comment, interact and develop fantastic pieces of work that truly represent a team effort. Users could also browse through the fledgling Rocketr community of notebooks to get further inspiration. Finally, since Rocketr is available on the iPhone, users can take their notebooks and work on projects while they are on the go.

Users can sign up for a Rocketr account by visiting the Rocketr homepage and clicking on the 'Sign Up' button. Rocketr requests a user to provide their first and last name, a username, an email address and a password in order to setup a Rocketr account. Users are then taken to their Rocketr dashboard where there are some ready-made notebooks there for them already or they can begin to create and share new ones.
